The Game Developers Conference has grown from an informational gathering of about 25 developeres in the living room of a notable game designer 23 years ago, to a week long conference for more than 18,000 industry insiders. Initally the GDC was focused on computer games, but the industry has now diversified to the point that it includes any number of platforms, such as gaming consoles, handheld devices, the web and, of course, computers.
